Chick-fil-A and rainy days

On February 9th I posted a blog titled “What Do You Do On Slow Days”

I used the example of the weather causing business to be slow and how you could use a text to stimulate customers to come into your store. Of course you must have a database of customers to send the offers to.

Several Chick-fil-a restaurants in the area are using mobile sms text message marketing. We opted into two of the locations to track how they utilize this valuable database of customers.

Well here it is raining again in Georgia and guess what? This morning around 8:30 a text message came in from one of the Chick-fil-a locations and about 30 minutes later the other location sent out a text and it said:

“Hi Textsters! Chase the rain away w FREE Chick-fil-A Orig Sandwich! Inside only. Show your text, 11am-2pm, 3/10, 1 per text”

It of course gave the location and the keyword was in the message. It also encouraged forwarding to a friend. Guess what? It worked, my associate Jeff and his staff drove over and had lunch. Wonder how many other members cashed in on the offer?

Jeff spoke with the manager of the location and she stated that they have over 700 members already and on the last text offer that involved free chicken strips they literally had the text club members lining out the door. Not an unusual comment from companies successfully using text marketing!
