Waffle House offers a restaurant locater. Customers just text the keyword WH and their zip code or city and state to the short code LOCATE (562283) to find the closet restaurant. The Waffle House mobile sms text marketing campaign also offers a mobile coupon application that allows mobile coupons to be sent to a Smartphone and the barcode is scanned at the restaurants to be redeemed.

The exciting thing about mobile sms text message marketing is how affordable it is for businesses and organizations to participate in. It levels the playing field. Foursquare and Gowalla

Remember MySpace and Friendster then before you know it Facebook comes along and dominates the social media market. Facebook added fan pages for businesses and even jumped into the PPC market offering businesses the ability to run PPC ads on the network.

Now here comes Foursquare and Gowalla and it is being billed as the location wars.

Foursquare and Gowalla have turned social media into an incredible opportunity for business by making it a game. They both let you “check in” at various places (restaurants, stores, etc) and both have a bit of a game aspect to them. Foursquare is based on cities and addresses and Gowalla is based entirely on GPS which seems to be an advantage when traveling. The GPS finds you no matter what and no need to type in the location if it is not in the system. Wonder if Facebook and Twitter is going to jump into this game type of networking?

They Opt In!

It is understood that when something new comes along many people have a misunderstanding about whatever it is, especially when technology is involved.

This certainly applies to text message marketing. I have already heard it mentioned more than once from business owners that they would not be interested in text message marketing because they do not want to do that to their customers?

E-mail has been so abused that everyone is really tired of spam and the 1st thing these business owners do is associate text message marketing with spam. But once it is explained, then it makes sense!

The customers that would be receiving the text messages are providing permission; they opt in by texting a keyword to a short code. Once they do this they are opted into your database so you can send them your promotions. If they no longer want to receive your messages they opt out, simple as that.

So what these business owners are mistakenly saying is that they do not want their customers to have the opportunity to raise their hands and say I love your product or service and I want to receive exclusive offers from you when they are available.

So undo the mindset of spam and realize that text message marketing is a voluntary, opt in permission based form of communication and your customers want you to send them exclusive offers. You will be building a very valuable database of customers that want what you have!

Why Pay More for Text Marketing?

Have you noticed all the different prices on texting plans out in the market?

What makes some more expensive than others? One reason is because of mark up. If any company offering you text message marketing is buying text marketing packages and reselling them they have to mark up the prices to make a profit. If you are getting your text message plan through a white label provider you are paying more than is necessary. As a matter of fact, you could get better pricing if you went straight to the owner of the software that is licensing the system to the white label provider. It is the EXACT same software for a lower price.

Sorry white label site owners it is a fact.

I know the companies that offer white label programs would not be happy about this either because they are able to double dip. They get a monthly license fee from the white label provider along with the text credits they sell them.

Many of the top text marketing providers in the industry do not offer white label programs.

So the point is this. You can start using text marketing for your business at very affordable rates; go direct for the best prices. If you do not, the FACT is you are PAYING TOO MUCH.

The prices offered through Go Text Talk are some of the best, if not the best prices in the industry today. No mark up, direct with our provider. Go look at how low our prices are.

The provider that Go Text Talk exclusively uses is true mobile marketing veterans that have been in business since 2003. This provides you access to a proven, time tested platform that makes mobile sms text message marketing an easy and profitable way to promote your company’s products or services.

Mobile marketing is here and I hope you seize the moment.

Chick-fil-A and rainy days

On February 9th I posted a blog titled “What Do You Do On Slow Days”

I used the example of the weather causing business to be slow and how you could use a text to stimulate customers to come into your store. Of course you must have a database of customers to send the offers to.

Several Chick-fil-a restaurants in the area are using mobile sms text message marketing. We opted into two of the locations to track how they utilize this valuable database of customers.

Well here it is raining again in Georgia and guess what? This morning around 8:30 a text message came in from one of the Chick-fil-a locations and about 30 minutes later the other location sent out a text and it said:

“Hi Textsters! Chase the rain away w FREE Chick-fil-A Orig Sandwich! Inside only. Show your text, 11am-2pm, 3/10, 1 per text”

It of course gave the location and the keyword was in the message. It also encouraged forwarding to a friend. Guess what? It worked, my associate Jeff and his staff drove over and had lunch. Wonder how many other members cashed in on the offer?

Jeff spoke with the manager of the location and she stated that they have over 700 members already and on the last text offer that involved free chicken strips they literally had the text club members lining out the door. Not an unusual comment from companies successfully using text marketing!
